Today we would like to talk about everything you need to survive a coworking day. Everything you need to carry in your backpack or purse so that last minute needs and surprises do not catch you off guard. In the whole list I am not going to include a laptop or mobile phone since I assume that for most they are just another extension of your body.
Obviously many are basic for coworking in terms of technological needs for efficient work. I think that more than once I have left the laptop charger or even the laptop itself but let's go into more detail.
Coworking first aid goes through:
Various cables and chargers such as the laptop and the mobile phone cable. Without power supply, a coworking day can be reduced to just over 2 hours. We start at the beginning or the most vital thing that is energy.
Portable battery. I personally always carry a loaded one. Some mistake or departure to see a client without having a lot of cargo, it has been great to have it on hand.
Coworking access cards. In my case, coworking works with identification cards for access to the coworking space. We supply them free of charge and honestly they are cheap so if they are lost it is not a disappointment either since they are canceled and become new.
Pens. There never is, it is the most coveted thing in coworking. Whoever has a pilot is already like mineral water in the middle of the desert.
Loose coins for vending machines or coffee on breaks. It is always good to accumulate in a pocket of the backpack that change of coins of 10, 20 or 50 to be able to invite a partner for pleasure. Many times they come in handy for an unexpected purchase.
Battery charger if your wireless mouse runs on batteries. In the case of my Imac, the keyboard and mouse work with rechargeable batteries and it is pure marine salvage.
Some medications are always helpful for headaches. Our coworking has a box with various types up to stomach protectors. For headaches they are usually used almost daily.
Fork and spoon. I have them inside my backpack wrapped. It is something strange but functional. Not all of us like to eat with the cutlery that can be in the office. Or with plastic cutlery.
Wireless helmets. Why wireless, first because they are already cheap and are more comfortable and second because on more than one occasion a tug on the cable has taken the laptop behind and there have been more than tachycardia.
Water bottle. Of these hard reusable metal or plastic. Here there are always single-use glasses but to keep the environment almost everyone uses their own bottles. They are usually from half to a liter of water.
Something to eat. Sweets, nuts or chewing gum. A curiosity that was given by an anecdote. Once a large order for candy arrived by mistake that was never picked up again. And here we continue to take them out from time to time and distribute especially in the afternoons when we go somewhat lacking in glucose and energy.
Single-use tissues. Especially in winter time or in case of allergies. For education and for health. This is already very survival or emergency but you never know when you or your partner will need it in a sneeze attack.
The keys to the locker, in many cases the storage inside the coworking is used to store emergency things. Here at Grow Working we have lockers for coworkers who need them. Paper books and most necessities are stored there continuously and safely. Now yes, never forget your locker key!
